Funeral services for Ruby J. Cochran, 82, of Henderson, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 2, 2010, at the Roquemore Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Erwin Gould and Rev. Leymoin Wiggins officiating. Burial will follow in Strong Cemetery under the direction of the Rader Funeral Home of Henderson.

Mrs. Cochran died Tuesday, Dec. 29, 2009, at her residence.

Ruby J. Cochran was born Feb. 15, 1927, to Prior and Ophelia Howeth, she had lived in the Roquemore Community most of her life where she was a homemaker, and she also worked in fiberglass. Ruby was also a member of the Roquemore Missionary Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by a son, Sam "Big Un" Cochran and her parents. Also preceding her in death were brothers and sisters, Lum Howeth, Jesse Howeth, Elgin Howeth, Robert Howeth, Fletcher Howeth, Frank Howeth, Erma Graham, Louise Erwin, Betty Faye Howeth, Ester Maye Howeth and Lurlene Howeth.

She is survived by a son, John Cochran and wife Lolita of Henderson; daughter, Nancy and husband Robert Brown of Henderson; grandchildren, Carl Atkinson and wife Shelly of Henderson, Buster Cochran and wife Jessica of Mount Enterprise, Sandy Miliam of Mount Enterprise, Dustin Cochran of Henderson, J.W. Cochran and wife Aimee of Henderson, Tamesha Banton of Granbury, Joshua Cochran of Henderson, Jessica Birss and husband Billy of New London; step grandchildren, Brandon Taylor and wife Amanda New London and Miranda Taylor of Henderson. Also surviving are 17 great-grandchildren; brother, P.C. Howeth and wife Mary of Henderson.

Pallbearers will be J.W. Cochran, Joshua Cochran, Buster Cochran, Carl Atkinson, Dustin Cochran and Bryan Northrup.
