Services for Jerry B. Burwick, 81, of Liberty City, will be Monday, July 5, 2010 at Two O'clock in the afternoon in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home with Reverends James Shephard, Wesley Vandever and Bill Richardson officiating. Burial will follow at Rocksprings Cemetery in Gregg County, Texas. Mr. Burwick passed away Thursday, July 1, 2010 in Longview.
He was born on October 18, 1928 in Daisetta, Texas to the late Jerry B. Burwick and Martha Elizabeth Collins. Mr. Burwick attended Liberty City Assembly of God Church and was retired from Texaco. Mr. Burwick served in the 48th Ordinance in the U.S. Army. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Loretta Burwick of Liberty City; daughters, Deborah Rodgers of Gladewater, Rebecca Dalton of McComb, Mississippi and Wanda Elizabeth of Longview; son, Jerry Michael of Liberty City; sisters, Ida Lucille Harden of Houston, Matilda Imastine Broussard of Conroe and Frances Laverne Taylor Silsbee; nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
Mr. Burwick is preceded in death by his sisters, Feby Mae Knight and Sybil Earline Joiner.
