GLADEWATER — Services for James E. Choate, 64, of Gladewater, Texas, will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, November 5, 2014, at Croley Funeral Home Chapel, with Bucky Goza officiating. Interment will follow in Rock Springs Cemetery. James passed on Sunday, November 2, 2014, in Gladewater. Services are under the direction of Croley Funeral Home in Gladewater, Texas.
James Choate was born December 12, 1949, in Mount Pleasant, Texas, to Frank and Dixie Choate. He was a veteran of the Army and served in Vietnam. He was employed by Texas Die Casting for 30 years as a Maintenance Engineer. He married Deanna Harper in Gladewater on March 26, 1971.
He is survived by his wife, Deanna Choate; sons, Joel and James Choate of Gladewater; daughters, Brittney Choate of Gladewater and Michelle and husband, Chris Clark, of Tyler; sisters, Frankie Rushing of Longview, Marjorie and husband, Brett Hayden, of Gladewater and Mary Allen and husband, Chester Green, of Duncanville; four grandchildren, Chelsea and husband, Michael Stroud, of Tyler, Lexi Choate Williams of Gilmer, Tyrus Choate of Gilmer and Blake Choate Clift of Carthage; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
James is preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Dixie Choate; and stepfather, Casey Jones.
Pallbearers will be Scott Daniel, John Howze, Alex Sanchez, Raul Hernandez, Fred Melton and Rusty Shofner. Honorary pallbearers will be the men of Texas Die Casting in addition to Chris Clark, Chester Green, Brett Hayden, Michael Stroud, Kevin Dickerson, Hollis Briggs and Joe Madden.
