Glen Keith Collins, 77 of Vernon, Texas died on Friday, January 1, 2016, in Vernon, Texas.
Funeral services will be held Monday, January 4, 2015 at 10:00 AM at Sullivan Funeral Home Chapel. Officiating will be Rev. James Keenum. Interment will be at Eastview Cemetery under the direction of Sullivan Funeral Home.
Glen was born Friday, September 23, 1938 in Chillicothe, Texas; he was the son of the late J. Wilson Collins and the late Ada Belle Mayo Collins. He married Beth Ann Kester on November 23, 1956 in Odell, TX. she preceded him in death on August 1, 2012.
He served in the US Army National Guard for 10 pulse years. He attended Midwestern State University. He owned and operated Collins Pest Control for 35 years and he was a camera man for Channel 6 News in Wichita Falls and in Midland he was a camera man and policeman and firefighter. He was a house and apartment complex builder at the Waggoner St. Apartments. He was manager of Oklaunion Gin for years. He was a rancher and he loved to sing and write songs. He was a member of First Baptist Church and he was song leader and music minister at Calvary Baptist Church
He is survived by
His two daughters,
Tanya Beth Gray of Vernon, TX and Emily Jeane Collins of Vernon, TX;
4 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild.
He is preceded in death by his wife, two brothers Mike Collins and Donny Collins.
