Services for Marshall H. “Sonny” Gaddis, 81, of Duncanville, TX were Friday, 2:00 p.m., December 9, 2006 at Bates-Cooper-Sloan Funeral Chapel in Mount Pleasant, TX, with the Rev. Dale Webster officiating. Interment was at Concord Cemetery, Omaha, TX. Pallbearers were Scott Lane, Bob Perkins, J. W. Brown, E. L. Speedy Thrift, M. D. McCollum, Tony McCollum; honorary pallbearer was Jimmy McCollum. Mr. Gaddis was born May 13, 1925 and was a Baptist. He was the former owner of DMG Construction Co, was a Charter Member of the Mt. Pleasant VFW Post 3986 and Duncanville VFW and was a U. S. Navy Veteran of WWII. He is survived by his wife Dorothy Jean (McCollum) Gaddis of Duncanville, TX; son & daughter-in-law Gary & Candi Gaddis of Palmer, TX; daughter & son-in-law, Dianna & Ronald Biggs of Tyler, TX, grandchildren Amy Hill, Amber Gaddis, Amber Lee Hunt, Morgan Hunt, and great -grand children, Noah Hill and Morgan Davis; brother-in-laws, M. D. McCollum and Dale Webster. He was preceded in death by his mother, Lola (Tucker) Gaddis, father, Montsey Hunter Gaddis, sister, Ollie Woodard, sister-in-law, Melba Webster and brother-in-law, Albert “Mac” McCollum. (Row 39 NE)

Dorothy Jean Gaddis, 79, died Wednesday, October 14, 2009 in Dallas. Services were held October 17 at Bates-Cooper-Sloan Chapel with Bro. Dale Webster officiating. Interment followed at Concord Cemetery underneath direction of Bates-Cooper-Sloan Funeral Home. Mrs. Gaddis was born October 12, 1930 in Omaha, TX., the daughter of Marvin McCollum and Dovie McCollum. She was a homemaker. She is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law Gary and Candis Gaddis of Palmer, and Michael Gaddis of Duncanville, a daughter and son-in-law Dianna and Ronald Biggs of Tyler; four grand-children Amy Hill, Amber Gaddis, Amber Lee Hunt and Morgan Hunt; three great-grandchildren and a brother M. D. McCollum of Mount Pleasant. She was preceded in death by her husband Marshall H. “Sonny” Gaddis; her parents; a brother, Albert “Mac” McCollum; and sister Melba Webster. (Row 39 NE)
