Services for Mr. Durwood (Woody) Hoskins, 72, of Rocky Branch were Monday, September 17, 2001 at Concord Baptist Church with the Rev. Nolan Richey officiating. Mr. Hoskins was born August 20, 1929 in Port Arthur. He died Saturday, September 15, 2001 in Mt. Pleasant. He was a retired contracts administrator for H&R Manufacturing Co. from Textron, a member of Concord Baptist Church. He had served in the US Navy in central intelligence and had made his home in Naples for the past 10 years. Survivors include his wife, Mary Jane Tigert Hoskins of Rocky Branch; three stepsons, Donald L. Blackburn of Valencia, CA, Michael David Blackburn of Palmdale, CA and Jeffrey Wayne Blackburn of St. Louis, MO; three brothers Art Ray Hoskins and Franklin Hoskins, both of Oakdale, LA and Leighton Hoskins of Lake Jackson; one sister, Betty Vaughn of Corsicana; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Richard (Dick) Hoskins and stepdaughter, Kathy Lynn Blackburn. Interment was at Concord Cemetery. (SoSec G Lot 12)

Services for Mrs. Mary Jane Tigert Hoskins, 83, of Rocky Branch, will be Wednesday, December 14, 2016 at Harrison Funeral Home Chapel in Naples with Rev. Nolan Richey officiating. Interment will follow in Concord Cemetery near Omaha. Mary Jane was born May 16, 1933 in Omaha, Texas to Joe and Thelma Carruth Tigert. She passed from this life on Wednesday, December 7, 2016 in Mt. Pleasant. She retired after many years of employment in the telephone industry in Texas and California. Mary Jane was a member of the Concord Baptist Church in Omaha, Texas. Preceding her in death was her husband, Durwood (Woody) Hoskins in 2001, a daughter, Kathy Lynn Blackburn, her parents, and siblings: Wilma Jo Vissering, Nell Bisang, and Bobby Tigert. Survivors include three sons Donald L. Blackburn and Michael David Blackburn of California, and Jeffrey Wayne Blackburn of Missouri; one brother, Jerry Tigert of Rocky Branch; two sisters, Frankie Berry of Naples and Kathryn Hicks of El Paso. Mary Jane’s grandchildren are: Candice Blackburn, Michael Blackburn, II, Leslie Blackburn, Katie Blackburn, Natalie Atkins, and Phillip Blackburn. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the service. Pallbearers will be Allen Berry, Joey Berry, Glenn Tigert, Lee Tigert, and Steve Vissering. Mary Jane enjoyed many good times with her friends and was dearly loved by those who knew her. She will be greatly missed. (SoSec G Lot )
