Joyce Kathryn Shipley (1958 - 2012)
Joyce Kathryn Shipley, 53, passed away at her home on Friday, June 1, 2012. Funeral: 4 p.m. Monday at Slay Memorial Funeral Center in Aubrey. Burial will follow at a later date in Bloomfield Cemetery. Rev. Luther Slay will officiate the services. Visitation: 4 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Kathy was born on Dec. 26, 1958, in Denton to Jack and Ruby Nell Chandler Hudgins. She married Byron Shipley on May 3, 1980, in Denton. Kathy was employed by Verizon for 30 years.
Survivors: Kathy is survived by her husband, Byron of Pilot Point; son, Jeff Shipley and wife, Toni, of Collinsville; daughters, Karla and Jim Watland of Pilot Point and Kim and Mike Gobble of Muenster; brothers, Danny and Jackie Hudgins of Fort Worth and Mike and Barbara Hudgins of Era; sisters, Jackie and Jim Gary of Lake Kiowa and Judy and John Gravely of Pilot Point; brother-in-law, Bob Shipley of Columbia, S.C.; and seven grandchildren.
