PILOT POINT -- services for J. M. Davis, 59, who died Saturday at Flow Memorial Hospital in Denton, were scheduled for 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Mount Pleasant Baptist Church in Cooke County with the Rev. Milton Pledger, pastor of the church, officiating. Burial was to follow in Bloomfield Cemetery under the direction of the Huff Funeral Home in Pilot Point.
He was born Jan. 6, 1923, in Pilot Point to Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Davis. On Sept. 19, 1942, he married Alta Scott in Denton. He was a member of the Mount Pleasant Baptist Church, a veteran of World War II, serving with the U.S. Navy, and a retired tax investigator with the State Comptroller's office.
Survivors include his wife, Alta Davis of Pilot Point; two sons, Jerry Davis of Denton and Larry Davis of Milton, Vt.; one daughter, Jeanie Zaachary of Camden, Aark.; and seven grandchildren.
Bearers are Joe Dye, Jack Sanders, Paul Sitzes, Harold Sitzes, Eulice Booe and Lester Haynie
