Graveside services for Gainesville resident, Joyce Hazel Matthews Hamilton will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 17th at Fairview Cemetery, with Rev. Bill Black officiating. Family visitation will be 6:00 -8:00 p.m. Monday at Meador-Clement-Keel Funeral Home. Joyce left us June 14, 2014 to be with our Heavenly Father at the age of eighty-eight.
Joyce was born May 24, 1926 in Kiowa, Oklahoma to the late Ross and Ellen (Cross) Matthews. She married Joe Edward Pierce Hamilton July 30, 1942 in Gainesville, Texas. Mrs. Hamilton was a homemaker for many years then went to work at Bomber Bait, later returning to homemaking.
Survivors include her husband, Joe E. Hamilton; son, Billy Joe Hamilton; daughter, Betty Joyce Kyle; son-in-law, Melvern Murry; daughter-in-law, Peggy Hamilton; grandchildren, Brenda Sampson, Sheree Hamilton, Nicole Johnson, Teresa Murry, Bobby Hamilton, Taylor Thomason and Terry Crisp; thirteen great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Linda Sue Murry; son, Jimmy Edward Hamilton and grandchildren, Tarjia and Joe Beaver.
