Funeral services for Fleta Mae Waldrop, age 93 of Seminole, Texas will be held Tuesday, June 21, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church with Pastor Matt Edwards officiating. Burial will follow at Gaines County Memorial Cemetery (north). All services are under the direction of Boyer Funeral Home.
Mrs. Waldrop passed away Saturday, June 18, 2011 at Memorial Health Care Center in Seminole following a lengthy illness. She was born June 10, 1918 in Enid, Oklahoma to Benjamin Freeman and Ether Ethyl (Johnson). She married Levi T. Waldrop on August 15, 1936 in Carlsbad, New Mexico.
Mrs. Waldrop was a Baptist. She enjoyed writing poetry and reading. Mrs. Waldrop made Easter clothes for her girls every year and made quilts for every family member. She was a very humorous lady.
Fleta Mae Waldrop is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Levi in 1998, two sisters, 3 half-brothers and one half-sister.
She is survived by:
1 Son Fred Waldrop and wife Lucia of Sweetwater, Texas, 3 Daughters Regina Garrett and husband Ray of Seminole, Texas, Carolyn Jones and husband Larry of Wortham, Texas, LaDonna Flora and husband Andrew of Seminole, Texas, 7 Grandchildren, 2 Great grandchildren.
