*Obituary
Betty Lou (Roberson) Taylor left this earth for her heavenly home on Wednesday, December 18, 2019 in Lubbock, Texas. From birth to the very end she had a spirit of tenaciousness, strength and orneriness.

Born in Tahoka, Lynn County, Texas on May 12, 1927 the daughter of a cotton farmer and homemaker, she was the eldest of 12 siblings. As a family the Robersons worked fields throughout West Texas creating a bond to the land and each other that spanned the generations. Even after she and husband Loyd started their own family, wherever Betty was, she gave others the sense of home. From the love of working the land to her love of caring for people, one of her proudest moments was being a nurse’s aide. Though she was firm in her beliefs and did not hesitate to let you know her thoughts, Betty’s opinion was respected by family and friends. She tried to share her appreciation of cleanliness, ironing, home cooking and ice cream with even the youngest of her large extended family. Those who were close and loved her would attribute Betty with pink & pink, butterflies & hummingbirds, being the family historian & storyteller. Everyone that knew Betty knew that she loved Jesus. As a member of Trinity Baptist Church for over fifty years, she cared for and loved her church family deeply and will be missed; her pew cannot be filled.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents Benjamin Franklin Roberson and Maggie Janie (Rasco) Roberson, husband Loyd Cleo Taylor, son Allen Taylor, daughter Debbie Langley, son-in-law Larry Gene Langley, granddaughter Hally Gray, and grandson Rusty Oldham. Greeting her in Heaven will also be her sisters, Eunice, Helen, Yvonne, Virgie, and Dorthy, and her brothers, Gerald, Bill, Eddie Joe and Dalton.

She is survived by son Earnest Taylor and wife Vickie, daughter Kathy Oldham, son Len Taylor, all of Seminole, and daughters-in-law Mary Lynn Taylor of Abilene and Toni Taylor of Richmond, Texas. Known as Mamaw and Granny T, her 11 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren will miss her deeply. More than just “Aunt Betty” to so many of her relatives, the proud matriarch loved and served as a mother figure for numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins. Siblings Benjie Roberson of Seminole and Sheila Wiltze of Las Vegas, Nevadaand sister-in-law Sandy Roberson of Del Rio, Texas carry on the Roberson legacy.

Funeral services for Betty Lou Taylor, age 92 of Seminole, Texas will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 23, 2019 at Trinity Baptist Church in Seminole with Bro. Randy Bush of San Angelo, Texas officiating and Pastor Phillip Golden assisting. Burial will follow at Gaines County Cemetery. All services are under the direction of Boyer Funeral Home. The family wishes to thank Seminole EMS and Seminole Memorial Home Health for their support and help.
