*Obituary

GLORIA MARIE GALLO HOOPS 85, went to be with our Lord on April 17, 2016 in Sugar Land. Gloria was born on October 8, 1930 in Patchogue, Long Island, New York to parents Frank E. Gallo and Angelina Cook. During her younger years, she spent much of her time in competitive roller skating. Before retirement, she enjoyed many years of being a florist in the flower shops of Alvin. Often she could be found working in her garden of many flowers and plants. Gloria did sewing and alterations for many people in our community. She also enjoyed crocheting but her favorite times were spent decorating and cooking for her family, especially during the holidays. She was very artistic in her decorating and there was always enough dressing to feed an army. Gloria loved her family dearly. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren meant everything to her, as they did her in return.

Gloria was preceded in death by her parents; son Bobby Hoops; sister Nancy Schabowsky; brother-in-law John Schabowsky, Sr. ; and nephew John Schabowsky, Jr.

She is survived by her daughter Lynda Brooks and husband Cliff; daughter-in-law Grace Hoops; niece Jo Ann Pacheco; grandchildren: Ashley Clarac, Cory Brooks, and Colbey Hoops; great grandchildren: Matty Filer, Mason Clarac, and Rae Rae Clarac; great nieces and nephews: Steven Samarin and Nunziata Lay; numerous family members and friends.
