GALVESTON - Guadalupe H. Cazares, 84, born on Dec. 12, 1918, in Brownsville, Texas, passed away on Sunday, Nov. 9, 2003, at her home. She was a resident of Galveston for 52 years and co-owner of the former New York Shoe Repair Shop.

Mrs. Cazares is preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Candelario Cazares and also her parents.

She was a homemaker, mother and a friend to all that knew her.

Mrs. Cazares is survived by a brother, Noe Hurtado and wife, Lydia, of McAllen; her children, Carmen Stickley, of Bayou Vista, Cris Maldonado and husband Hector, of Edinburg, Maria Cazares, of
Galveston, Rosie Hale and husband, Tillman, of Victoria, Leonard - Cazares, of New Orleans and Gracie Salinas and Richard Cazares, of Texas City and Annie Gonzales. Sharing in her loss are Mrs. Cazares' grandchildren, Sharon Dement, John Stickley, William Stickley^ Sonia Allen, Mirta Guajardo, Sirley
Chapa, Rick Maldonado, Yri Infante, Rik Cazares, Jr., Jennifer Fuller and Suzie Hall, 13 greatgrandchildren, nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was a member of St. Mary's Cathedral Basilica of Galveston and The Woodmen of the World Society.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, Nov. 12, 2003, at St. Mary's Cathedral Basilica, Galveston with Fr. John LaBauve, S.V.M., as celebrant. Burial will follow services Wednesday at Grace Memorial Park Cemetery in Alta Loma, Texas.

A Vigil Service will be held at 7 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 11, 2003, followed by the Rosary, in " the Memorial Room of Broadway Funeral Home, Galveston, with Deacon John Pistone of St. Mary's
Cathedral Basilica, officiating.

Mrs. Cazares' family will be receiving friends for visitation at the funeral home Tuesday evening from 5 p.m. until 8p.m.

Pallbearers will be John Stickley, William Stickley, Rick Maldonado, Rik Cazares, Jr., Alberto Guajardo and Joel Hurtado.

Mrs. Cazares' family extends a special thanks to Dr. Jose Loera and to the doctors and staff of Gambro Healthcare Dialysis Center pf Galveston and'also to Maura Gonzales, healthcare provider.

Memorials in her memory can be made to St. Mary's Cathedral Basilica Restoration and Preservations Fund, 2011 Church, Galveston, Texas, 77550.
