John Babe Mays, 68. of 1109 Pirtle. La Marque died Nov. 18 in Galveston County Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services were Nov. 19 in the chapel of James Crowder Funeral
Home. .
Burial was in Grace Memorial Park in Alta Loma.
Graveside services were under the auspices of the Texas City Masonic Lodge No. 1118.
Mr. Mays was born June 27. 1907 in Waller, Texas and had been a resident of the Texas City-La Marque area lor the past 48 years.
Mr. Mays was a retired electrical foreman for American Oil Company and was a veteran of World War 11. He was a member of the First Christian Church oi La Marque, the Texas City Masonic Lodge No. 1118 and
the El Mina Shrine Temple ol Galveston. He was a 52 degree mason. He was also a member ol the La Marque chapter of A.A.R.P. and the
Golden Age Club of Texas City.
Survivors include his widow, Naomi Lola Mays of La Marque; a daughter. Mrs. Jerry Shirley) Birkes of Alta Loma; two sisters sisters, Mrs. Annie Cummings and Mrs. VV. B. Anderson, both of Houston: three grandchildren: two great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
The family requested that memorials be sent lo the Leukemia Society.
