GALVESTON - Lillian Mary Boyd, 82, died Friday, April 27, 2001 in West Hills, California. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Monday, May 7, 2001 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 14th and Broadway, Galveston, Texas, with Father Frank Fabj, celebrant: Entombment will follow at Grace Memorial Park Mausoleum, Hitchcock, Texas. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday, May 6, 2001 at Carnes Brothers Funeral Home with a Rosary for the Deceased to be held at 7 p.m.
Lillian was born February 15, 1919, in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Edward Chouteau and May Bird (Parrish) Legge. She received her elementary education at St. Francis Xavier school in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and graduated from St. Agnes Academy of Houston with the Class of 1938. Following graduation Lillian worked as Clerk-Typist as a civilian with the U.S. Army and for ANICO of Galveston. She was an active member of the Ladies Auxiliary of St. Patrick Catholic Church. As her children grew she was active in the Girl and Boy Scouts in Galveston and a volunteer in many school and Catholic church functions. A dedicated homemaker, she loved to cook, sew and crochet and devoted her -life to the care of her family and
friends.
Lillian married Glen Norman Boyd Sr. on June 27, 1942 at Sacred Heart Church. They were married for 53 years and her husband preceded her in death in 1998. Lillian's two brothers and three sisters also preceded her in death.
She is survived by her daughter, Suzanne Matejowsky and husband, Ronald, of Galveston; son, Glenn Boyd Jr. and wife, Vivien, of Palmdale, California; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many, many dear friends.
Pallbearers will be Richard Ervin, Alan Cagle, Lin Cubbison, Fred Schneider, members and friends of the family.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial contribution in loving memory of Lillian M. Boyd may be made to THE MARY KAY ASH CHARITABLE FOUNDATION, P.O. BOX 799044, DALLAS, TX 75379-
9044.
