ABILENE - J. A. "Amor" English, 88, died Saturday, Oct. 23, 1993 in an Abilene hospital.
Funeral services were at 10 a.m. today at Allen-Korzenewski Funeral Home Chapel in Abilene. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Highland Park Cemetery in Borger, with the Rev. Leonard Forsythe, pastor Bible Baptist Church, officiating.
Burial will be by Allen-Korzenewski Funeral Directors.
He was born Sept. 26, 1905 at Mena, Ark. He retired from Texas Pipe and Metal Company in Borger, and was a Baptist.
He was a Borger resident from 1956 until moving to Potosi in April, 1993.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Jewell Josephine, June 9, 1974; three children, two sisters and a brother.
Survivors include two daughters; three sons; a brother; four sister; 19 grandchildren; and 36 great-grandchildren.

Services for Jewel Josephine English, 61, of 715 Derr, will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Bible Baptist Church, with the Rev. Leonard Forsythe, pastor, officiating.
Interment will follow in the Highland Park Cemetery under the direction of Minton Mortuary.
Mrs. English died at 6 a.m. Sunday at North Plains Hospital. She had been a resident of Borger since 1956.
Survivors are her husband, James A. of the home; three sons, Doyce of Abilene, Billy of Arkansas, and Jimmy of Clarendon; three daughters, Mrs. Faye Williamson, Mrs. Wanita McClarnen, and Mrs. Dorothy Watkins all of Borger; one sister, Mrs. Mabelle King of Washington; one brother, Roy Jackson of Clarendon; and 19 grandchildren.
Casketbearers will be Robert Watkins, Russell English, Tommy Williamson, Ricky McClarnen, Prentis Adams, and Carl Slate.
