G.W. "Dub" Garrett, 60, of 601 Mississippi, died Thursday at 4:55 p.m. at North Plains Hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the First Baptist Church. The Rev. Ernest Stewart of Omaha, Neb. will officiate and will be assisted by Dr. Charles Thrasher, pastor.
Burial will be in Highland Park Cemetery by Minton Mortuary.
Mr. Garrett was the manager of Forest Lumber Co. in Denver City for 30 years. He had been employed by June Garrett Motor Co. for the past two years.
He was born Feb. 17, 1918 at Ridgeway. Mr. Garrett was a member of the First Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Wilma; two daughters, Mrs. Martha Brooks of Abilene and Mrs. Reta Nance of Plains; a son, Bob of Borger; six brothers Buddy and L.B. of Hollis, Okla., June, Billy James and Dean, all of Borger and Jack of Houston; four sisters, Mrs. Gladys Price of Sulphur Springs, Mrs. Lois Neeper of LaJunta, Colo., Mrs. Christine Darnell of Long Beach, Calif. and Mrs. Altha Mitchell of Borger; and seven grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Woody Splawn, J.M. Mitchell, Robert Garrett, Billy Dean Garrett, John Bayless and Don Rhodes. Honorary pallbearers will be his brothers.

Wilma Garrett Splawn, 91, died Monday, July 27, 2009, in Granbury.
Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 29, 2009, at Wiley Funeral Home with a visitation to follow. Interment will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 30, 2009, at Highland Park Cemetery in Borger.
Mrs. Splawn was born Oct. 30, 1917, in Hollis, Okla.
