Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Brown Funeral Directors, Chapel of the Fountains, in Borger with the Rev. Leonard Forsythe, pastor of Bible Baptist Church of Borger, officiating. Burial will be in Highland Park Cemetery of Borger.

Mr. Newland was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Army. He was a retired shift supervisor for Phillips Copolymer Plant.

Survivors include his wife, Frances; a son, Tom Newland of Amarillo; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials be to Veterans Affairs Medical Center, 6010 W. Amarillo Blvd., Amarillo, TX 79106.

BORGER - Frances Newland, 86, of Amarillo, formerly of Borger, died Sunday, April 3, 2005.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Brown Funeral Directors Chapel of the Fountains with the Rev. Leonard Forsythe, pastor of Bible Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Highland Park Cemetery.

Mrs. Newland was born Dec. 6, 1918, in Carr Creek, Ky. She was a third- and fourth-grade teacher for Borger ISD for 30 years.

Survivors include a son, Tom Newland of Amarillo; three sisters, Donice Turner of Hindman, Ky., Mildred Burger of Tennessee and June Davidson of Michigan; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and two stepgrandchildren.
