August L. Speegle, 92, of Borger, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2012, in Borger, Texas. No services are scheduled.

August was born Aug. 8, 1920, in Wellington, Texas, to Oliver and Pearl Speegle. He married Clyda Mae Packard on Nov. 23, 1946. They were married 62 years before she preceded him in death in 2009. He had been a Borger area resident for most of his life. He retired from the Phillips Copolymer Plant where he worked for over 35 years. He enjoyed working on cars as a hobby.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Clyda; daughter, Joyce Speegle; and his seven brothers and sisters.

He is survived by his son, Lawrence Speegle of Borger and daughter, Frances Corbett of Fritch; eight grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren.

BORGER - Clyda Mae Speegle, 77, died Saturday, March 29, 2008, in Amarillo.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Bible Baptist Church with the Rev. Leonard Forsythe, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Highland Park Cemetery. Arrangements are by Minton-Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.

Mrs. Speegle married Austin Speegle on Nov. 23, 1946, in Borger. She collected birdhouses and angels, loved to sew, was an avid reader and served in her church for nearly 40 years.

Survivors include her husband, August; a son, Lawrence Speegle of Borger; two daughters, Frances Corbett of Fritch and Joyce Speegle of Sugarland; a sister; eight grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
