BORGER - Thad G. Tubbs, 83, died Friday, Feb. 9, 2007.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Robert Hensley, pastor at Bunavista Baptist Church, and Scott Maze, Pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Park Cemetery.

Mr. Tubbs was born Nov. 13, 1923, in Lillie, La. He married Laveda Manasco on July 11, 1947, in Cove, Ark.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Gloria Counts of Amarillo and Kay Klaus of Borger; a son, Rodney Tubbs of Azle; two brothers, Barney Lee Tubbs of Borger and Charles Tubbs of Dexter, N.M.; six grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials be to First Baptist Church Mission, P.O. Box 470, Borger, TX 79008; or Hospice Care of the Southwest, 1301 S. Coulter, Suite 404, Amarillo, TX 79106.

Laveda Tubbs, 91. Our beloved Mother and Grandmother passed away on July 26, 2018. Funeral service will be Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at the 1st Baptist Church with Rev. Charlie Morgan, Pastor, officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Park Cemetery under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.

Mrs. Tubbs was born February 2, 1927 in Cove, AR to Thomas Jefferson "Jeff" Manasco and Julia Ann Davis Manasco. She was one of the longest living members of the 1st Baptist Church and was a member of the Dorcas Sunday School Class. She loved quilting, having made over 50 quilts, she was also an accomplished baker. She loved her family, playing cards and dominoes and she tried to meet everyone's needs. She loved to travel with Thad after he retired from Huber and especially loved to go to Red River, NM.

Laveda was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Thad, her daughter Gloria Counts, four brothers and three sisters.

She is survived by her son Rodney Tubbs of Azle, TX, her daughter Kay Klaus and her husband Ronnie of Amarillo, her two brothers Brice Manasco of Stinnett and Tom Manasco of Cove, AR, her two sisters Ina Vaye Ralls of Borger and Rosella Brown of Cove, AR, six grandchildren Robbie, Melanie, Cody, Rusty, Ceslee and Hannah, fifteen great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.

Casket bearers will be Rusty Klaus, Cody Tubbs, Robbie Bowling, Leslie Russell and Jonathon Orona.
