BORGER - Lawrence A. Vaden Jr., 79, died Friday, Nov. 19, 2010.

Services will be at 11 a.m. today in Brown's Chapel of The Fountains. Burial will be in Highland Park Cemetery in Borger by Brown Funeral Director of Borger.

Mr. Vaden was born Feb. 21, 1931, in Erath to Lawrence A. Vaden and Agnes Maureen Sechrist. He married Barbara Scroggins on June 25, 1968, in Clayton, N.M.

Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Leigh Vaden Shopteese and Lynn Smith, both of Borger, and Diane Vaden Sherwood of Sayre, Okla.; a son, Lawrence A. Vaden III of Austin; a brother, David Vaden of Dublin; four sisters, Cathy Garrett and Nancy Holmes, both of Odessa, Maureen Wilson of Lubbock and Barbara Roach of Abilene; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

BORGER - Barbara Joan Scroggins Vaden, 79, died Thursday, April 7, 2011.

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Highland Park Cemetery in Borger with the Rev. Leonard Forsythe, pastor of Bible Baptist Church, officiating. Arrangements are by Brown Funeral Directors.

Mrs. Vaden was born Nov. 1, 1931, in Tulsa, Okla., to Herb and Elizabeth Long Scroggins. She married Lawrence Vaden on June 25, 1968, in Clayton, N.M.

Survivors include two daughters, Lynn Smith and Leigh Vaden Shopteese, both of Borger; five grandchildren; and a brother, Robert Price Scroggins of Tulsa.
