Arville D. Atherton
WHEELER - Funeral service for Arville Dean Atherton, 19, who died Saturday of burns received in a butane explosion June 23, were scheduled for 2:30 p.m. today in the first [sic] Baptist Church.
The Rev. C.M. Abercrombie of Briscoe was to officiate, assisted by the Rev. Dale Cain, pastor.
Burial was to be in the Wheeler Cemetery by Wright-Denson Funeral Home.
Atherton died Saturday at Parkview Hospital. He was burned when the butane hose he was using to clean a radiator ignited on the Atherton farm about 15 miles east of here.
A native of Shamrock, he was a graduate of Briscoe High School and attended Frank Phillips Junior College in Borger.
Survivors are his wife, his parents, three brothers and four grandparents.
