Lida Loveta Burks, 78, passed away Friday, August 20, 1993, at her home in Howe, Tx. "Nannie" as she was known by many friends and relatives was a former resident of Wheeler, Tx. Lovetta [sic] was born March 20, 1915, to C.H. (Clyde) Worley and Bessie Alice Ernest in rural Wheeler County and had resided in Howe about 17 years.

Survivors include two daughters, Linda Wall of Howe, Tx., and Joyce Findley of Ulysses, Ks.; two sons, Kenneth Burks of Richardson, Tx., and Don Burks of Allen, Tx,; twelve grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Also surviving are six sisters, Pauline Alford of Hartshome, Ok., Leona Morrison of Amarillo, Tx., Billie Holcomb of Brownfield, Tx., Patsy Smith of Wheeler, Tx., Audrey Gould of DeSoto, Tx., and Barbara Helton, Pampa, Tx.

She was preceded in death by an infant sister, Helen; two brothers A.J. Worley of Worland, Wy., and C.H. (PeeWee) Worley of Pampa, Tx. and her parents.

Graveside services were held at 3 p.m. Monday, August 23, 1993, in the Wheeler Cemetery at Wheeler, Tx. Arrangements were under the directions of the Flesher Funeral Home of Howe, Tx., with the Rev. Robert Hensley of the First Baptist Church of Wheeler presiding.

The family has requested memorials be made to the Howe Chamber of Commerce House Project, Howe Community Library, the First United Methodist Church of Howe, Tx. van fund, or your favorite charity.
