Pampa, TX; - Bertha Ela Fulks, 90, died Sunday, June 1, 2014. Services are to be held at Highland Baptist Church in Pampa, TX with Rev. Paul Nachtigall on Wednesday, June 4, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. Burial will be at the Wheeler Cemetery (southwest of Wheeler, Texas); under the direction of Peppers Family Funeral Home of Wheeler, TX.

Ela was born May 19, 1924, at Vernon rural in Wilbarger County to Lettie Mae and Jesse Swetnam. She graduated from Briscoe, Texas high school in 1942.

She married Ben Fulks on March 19, 1944. He died March 21, 1992. She resided in Pampa as a wife, mother, and homemaker since 1956 prior to living 7 miles south of Wheeler.

Survivors include three daughters, Janet and husband Larry Taylor of Pampa; Joan and husband Larry Cross of Amarillo; Julia East of Pampa. Six grandchildren, Clifford and Lisa Mynear of White Deer; Mike and SherRi' Brixey of Humansville, Missouri; Carrie Earhart of Pampa; Donnie and Denise Cross of Amarillo; Daniel and Chris Cross of Valle De Or; and Billie and Rebecca East of Borger. Nineteen Great Grandchildren and nine Great Great Grandchildren.

She loved to quilt. Making quilts for the Navajo Indians. Embroidering many pillow cases for gifts. Owned and operated B and J Tropical Fish Store on South Cuyler in Pampa for over 10 years.

Viewing will begin at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 4, 2014 at Highland Baptist Church in Pampa, TX.
