Iris Elaine Bailey Bell Hopkins, age 64, of Baird, Texas, passed away Tuesday, July 19, 2011, at her home.
Elaine was born on September 18, 1946, in Temple, Texas to James Henry and Wilma Moore Bailey.
A beautician, she had lived in Baird for 46 years where she owned and operated The Shoppe since 1975. She took a lot of pride in making people "pretty". Elaine worked as a beautician for Parker Funeral Home for over 35 years.
Elaine married Mike Bell on March 14, 1965, and of this marriage were born their daughter Brandi and son Danny. Later, Elaine married George Hopkins on April 1, 1983, and added his three children to her family circle. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Baird and the Esther Sunday School Class. Elaine loved needlework and china painting and was known for her beautiful yard work.
Elaine was the mother of daughter Brandi Bell and Tony Gotelaere, and son Danny Bell and April Lacey, all of Baird, Texas. She was mother to Kelly Jacobs of McKinney, Texas, Toni Harvey of Clyde, Texas, and James Hopkins of Baird, Texas. Elaine is also survived by a brother, Don Bailey and wife Melba of Hamlin, Texas; 2 sisters, Jan Hickerson and husband Dwight of Enid, Oklahoma, and Cordellia Bailey of Southlake, Texas; her grandchildren, Bailey Bell Miller and husband Kelly of Clyde, Texas, Felisha Macias, Kyle Macias, Breeanna Gonzalez, Bubba Gonzalez, Kortni Morton, and Kari Morton, all of Baird, Texas, Annie Parmelly of Austin, Texas, Abbey Parmelly of Brownwood, Texas, Andrew Young of Abilene, Texas, Callie Harvey and Hadleigh Harvey of Potosi, Texas, Sawyer Smith and Heidi Hopkins of Baird, Texas, Colby McGonagil of Clyde, Texas, and Ricky Mayo of Baird, Texas; one great granddaughter, Kooper Haze Miller of Clyde, Texas; and a number of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James Bailey and Wilma Hewitt, her husband George Hopkins, and 2 grandchildren, Jacob Harvey and Hayden Harvey
