WHEELER - Wanda King, 65, died Thursday, July 23, 2009.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Bill Stiles, retired Baptist minister, officiating. Burial will be in Wheeler Cemetery by Wright Funeral Home.
Wanda King was born May 6, 1944, in Wharton to Joe and Stacey Ziober. Wanda was a graduate of Wharton High School and Wharton Junior College. She married Don King on April 24, 1965, in Wharton. They moved to Wheeler from Graham in 1973. Wanda was the administrative assistant for Shamrock General Hospital for 32 years. She was a member of the Thursday Review Club and Shamrock Chamber of Commerce.
Survivors include her husband, Don King; a son, Andy King and wife Tara of Clay Center, Neb.; a brother, Frank Ziober of Wharton; and a sister, Lucy Jusek of Sugar Land.
The family suggests memorials be to Texas A&M University Meat Judging Team, in care of Dr. Davey Griffin, 348 Kleberg Center, College Station, TX 77843.
