Lewis Carl Laflin, 92, died Tuesday, Sept. 17, 1996.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Toby Henson, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Wheeler Cemetery by Wright Funeral Home.

Mr. Laflin was born in Washita County, Okla., and moved to Wheeler County in 1935. He worked for Southwestern Public Service Co. for a short time. He opened and operated Wheeler Radio and Refrigeration from 1935 until he retired at about 1970.

He married Faye Wiggins in 1965 at Wheeler. He was a member of First Baptist Church and a charter member of the Old Mobeetie Association.

He was preceded in death by a son, Carl Laflin, in 1991.

Survivors include his wife; five daughters, Doris Adams of Mineola, Patricia Wiggins McKeg of Texas City, Mary Whitener of Wheeler, Virginia Rose Pettit of Pampa and Maxine Howard of Miami, Texas; a sister, Esther Faye Ferguson of Miami; 18 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

The family requests memorials be to First Baptist Church of Wheeler.
