WHEELER - Carolyn Sue Damron Sabbe, 63, died Monday, June 20, 2011, in Amarillo.

Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Thursday in First United Methodist Church in Wheeler with the Revs. Tom Carter and Jim Jamieson officiating. Burial will be in Wheeler Cemetery by Wright Funeral Directors.

Carolyn was born Nov. 9, 1947, in Littlefield to Floyd Damron and Mary William. She worked for the Wheeler County sheriff for 21 years as a dispatcher and administrative assistant from 1990 to 2011. She also owned a flower shop in Wheeler called Flowers and Things, and Carolyn worked at Farm Bureau.

Carolyn married James "Joey" Sabbe on Aug. 25, 1969, in Pampa. He was a member of United Methodist Women, Sheriff Association and the Texas Jail Association.

She was preceded in death by her father in 1994; and a sister, Linda Hope Damron.

Survivors include her husband, James "Joey" Sabbe of Wheeler; a daughter, Kelli Maddox and husband Haydn of Memphis; a son, James Heath Sabbe and wife Jennifer of Amarillo; two sisters, Pat Loe and husband Bennie of Spur and Tammy Damron of Ruidoso, N.M.; five grandchildren Brock Sabbe, Kenley Maddox, Tyler Wormsbaker, Saylem Maddox and Tallon Sabbe; and her mother, Mary Damron of Bovina.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be to Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure, P.O. Box 50610, Amarillo, TX 79159; BSA Hospice, P.O. Box 950, Amarillo, TX 79105; First United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 89, Wheeler, TX 79096; or a favorite charity.

The family will be receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
