Graveside services for Etta Arend, age 85, of Littlefield, Texas will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 30, 2011 at Littlefield Memorial Park with Mike Holmes, pastor of St. Martin's Lutheran Church officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Hammons Funeral Home of Littlefield.

Etta went home to be with the Lord Saturday, June 25, 2011 at Lamb Healthcare Center in Littlefield. She was born on December 27, 1925 in Happy, Texas to James and Sarah Dalton. Etta married Wayne Duffey on January 19, 1946 in Littlefield. He preceded her in death on September 25, 1972. She then married Sonny Arend on December 28, 1972 in Austin, Texas. She farmed for 7 years following Wayne's death before working a short time in the lunch room at Littlefield schools. Etta then worked at ACG in Littlefield for 10 years. She was an accomplished seamstress who made clothing for her family and the public. She was a charter member of the VFW Auxiliary. Etta loved singing and spending time with her family.

Survivors include her husband: A.H. "Sonny" Arend; daughters, Fayedell and husband Ricky Arend of Littlefield and Jennifer Gwen Pace and friend Michael of Lubbock; sons, Gary Wayne Duffey of Stanford and Jeffery Lynn Duffy of Littlefield; stepdaughter, Diane and husband Tim Wochomurka of Slocomb, Ala.

Grandchildren will serve as pallbearers
