FRIONA - Maria Elena Alfaro, 65, died Friday, Nov. 16, 2007, in Lubbock.

Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. today in St. Teresa's Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday in the church with the Rev. Ed Sweeney of Amarillo and the Rev. George William, pastor, as celebrants. Burial will be in Friona Cemetery by Blackwell Funeral Home.

Mrs. Alfaro was born June 4, 1942, in Mexico to Saturnino and Maria Marmolejo Rodriguez. She married Ponciano Alfaro on April 15, 1968, in Mexico.

Survivors include her husband; a son, Ruben Alfaro of Clovis, N.M.; two daughters, Graciela Alfaro-Chairez and Doraly Alfaro-Lawas, both of Lubbock; two brothers, Valeriano Rodriguez of Mexico and Miguel Rodriguez of Ontario, Calif.; seven grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
