FRIONA - John Ralph Broyles, 82, died Tuesday, Nov. 9, 2010, in Amarillo.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Calvary Baptist Church in Friona with the Rev. Rick Burton, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Friona Cemetery by Blackwell Funeral Home in Friona.

Mr. Broyles, a longtime Parmer County resident, was born Feb. 4, 1928, in Shawnee, Okla., to Edgar and Verda Branschum Broyles. He married Delarose "Dean" Gonser on July 14, 1948, in Amarillo.

He was a U.S. veteran serving in the U.S. Army Air Corps, a former owner/operator of a parts and mechanic shop in Friona, a member of the American Legion and the First Baptist Church in Lazbuddie.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; and a brother, J.C. Broyles.

Survivors include two sons, Johnny Broyles and wife Robin of Amarillo and Jimmy Broyles and wife Tonna of San Angelo; two daughters, Patcine Jenkins and husband Jessie of Groom and Maxine Broyles and husband Randy Lattig of San Angelo; five sisters, LaVon McKillip of Muleshoe, Pat White of Angel Fire, N.M., Anita Merrill of Clovis, N.M., Ann Prater of Seminole, Okla., and Sondra Hugg of Portales, N.M.; a brother, Bobby Broyles of Clovis; six grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials be to Odyssey Vista Care Hospice Foundation, 717 N. Harwood St., Suite 1500, Dallas, TX 75201.

FRIONA - Della Rose "Dean" Gonser Broyles, 80, died Sunday, Feb. 28, 2010.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Calvary Baptist Church with the Rev. Rick Burton, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the Friona Cemetery by Blackwell Funeral Home.

Mrs. Broyles was born Oct. 16, 1929, in Laverne, Okla. She was the daughter of Leonard and Ruby Hanes Gonser. She married John Ralph Broyles on July 14, 1948, in Amarillo. They farmed in Lazbuddie for several years, moving to Friona in February 1966. She was a homemaker and bookkeeper for their business, Friona Parts and Service, retiring in 1989.

She was preceded in death by a grandson, Toby Gibson in 1993.

Survivors include her husband, Ralph; two sons, Johnny Broyles and wife Robin of Amarillo and Jimmy Broyles and wife Tonna of San Angelo; two daughters, Patcine Jenkins and husband Jesse of Groom and Maxine Broyles and husband Randy Littig of San Angelo; one sister, Patti Hughes of Dimmitt; six grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

The family suggests memorials to Cal Farley's Boys Ranch, P.O. Box 1890, Amarillo, TX 79174.
