Funeral Rites for Pioneer Woman, Mrs. Mae Hudson
Funeral services for Mrs. Mae Hudson, 85, one of Deaf Smith County's pioneers, will be held at 10 a.m. today in the First Methodist Church.
Mrs. Hudson died Tuesday night in the home of a daughter, Mrs. Forrest Minton, 601 Grand.
The Rev. Alby Cockrell and the Rev. Eugene Naugle will officiate at the services. Burial will be in West Park Cemetery under direction of Gililland Funeral Home.
Mrs. Hudson came to Deaf Smith County in 1907 from Crockett. She was born May 22, 1871 in Rockmart, Ga. She came to Texas in 1900 and married the late E.J. Hudson July 22, 1905 at Crockett.
Survivors include Mrs. Minton, another daughter, Mrs. Eleanor Hudspeth, 405 W. 3rd, Hereford; a sister, Mrs. T.P. Clements of Rockmart, two nephews, four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
