Loyd met and married Pearl Gonce on August 9, 1963. They moved to Hereford in 1968 and he owned Loyd’s Exterminating and worked for The City of Hereford for over 25 years. Loyd was awarded the Deaf Smith County Friends of 4H Award in 2000-2001 and Hereford’s “Bull Chip” Award in January 2011 by Hereford Chamber of Commerce. He was KPAN’s father of the year in 1983. Loyd loved to read and study the bible, gospel music, and to go to the mountains and trout fish.

Left to cherish his memories are three daughters, Suzanne Finch and husband Kent, Beverly Harrison and husband Brent both of Hereford, and Gayla Pearl Broyles and husband Derick of Amarillo; one sister, Twila Clark of Plainview; one brother, Johnny Dale Butler, Sr. of Hereford; four grandchildren, Cassie Swan and husband Landon, Cayden Finch and wife Sandee, Kory Finch, and Faith Harrison; and four great grandchildren, Myla Swan, Brynlee Swan, Caroline Finch, and Attley Finch.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Pearl; a granddaughter, Brooke Harrison; a brother, George Hulsey, Jr.; and two sisters, Faye Crosby and Joann England.

The family suggests memorials in Mr. Hulsey’s name be made to the Hereford’s Food Pantry, 900 N. Lee, Hereford, TX 79045.
