HEREFORD - Dora Chavez Montana, 68, died Wednesday, April 23, 2008, in Amarillo.
Celebration of life services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Hereford Heritage Funeral Home Chapel of Memories with the Rev. Mace Saenz, pastor of Without Walls Praise Center, officiating. Burial will be in West Park Cemetery by Hereford Heritage Funeral Home.
Mrs. Montana was born May 15, 1939, in Mosquero, N.M., to Juan and Anita Armigo Chavez. She moved to Hereford in 1993 from San Antonio.
Survivors include three sons, Cayetano Montana Jr. of Hereford, Gilbert Montana of Mexico and Richard Montana of Lubbock; three daughters, Janie Jimenez and Mary Ann Carrillo, both of Hereford, and Frances Montana of Milwaukee; three brothers, Frank Chavez, Albert Chavez and Richard Chavez, all of Hereford; six sisters, Janie Diaz, Rosa Garcia, Eloise Yabarra and Josefine Camacho, all of Hereford, and Ramona Chavez and Veronica Rodriquez, both of Bryant; 18 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials be to the Dora Montana Memorial Fund, in care of the funeral home, 411 E. Sixth St., Hereford, TX 79045.
