November 27, 1951 - March 1, 2014

Mass of Christian Burial for Elsa Perales, 62, a long time Hereford resident, will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 5, 2014 at La Mission de San Jose with Msgr. Joseph Bixenman, pastor of La Iglesia de San Jose, officiating. Interment will follow in West Park Cemetery, under the care of Parkside Chapel Funeral Home. A prayer vigil will be held Monday, March 3, and Tuesday March 4, at 6:30 p.m. at Parkside Chapel Funeral Home.

Elsa Barrera was born November 27, 1951 in Mexico to Francisco and Anastacia Martinez Barrera. She moved to Hereford in 1989 from Liberal, Kansas. Elsa married Adolfo Perales in San Juan, Texas in 1978 and was a member of La Iglesia de San Jose. She was a homemaker.

Left to mourn her passing are 3 brothers, Antonio Barrera and wife Bertha of Dimmitt, Francisco Barrera, Jr. and wife Rosa of Uvalde, Texas, Fortino Garza of Hereford, 6 nephews, Francisco Barrera, III of Uvalde, Texas, Eloy Barrera, Alonzo Barrera, Bobby Joe Barrera, Billy Joe Barrera and Antonio Barrera, Jr. all of Hereford, 3 Nieces Elizabeth Barrera Reyna and Grafida Barrera Garcia of Hereford and Sandra Barrera of Uvalde, Texas.
