Mass of Christian Burial for Annette M. Yavornik, 90, of Hereford, will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 10, 2013, at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, with the Reverend Anthony Neusch, pastor, officiating. Interment will follow in West Park Cemetery. A Prayer Vigil will be held at Parkside Chapel at 7:00 p.m. Monday, December 9, 2013 Services were entrusted to Parkside Chapel Funeral Home. Mrs. Yavornik passed away Thursday, December 5, 2013, in Hereford.
Annette M. Wentz was born July 18, 1922 in St. Louis, Mo., to Walter and Ann Schumacher Wentz.
She met and fell in love with Edward Yavornik. They were married September 12, 1942, in St. Louis.
Mrs. Yavornik was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church and the Albuquerque Slovic Club. She loved to cook and play Bridge. She will be forever missed by her family which thought of her as a wonderful, loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Surviving are 2 sons, Ed Yavornik and wife Barbara of Hereford, Dr. John Yavornik of Cuba, New Mexico, 2 grandsons, Dr. Michael Cunningham and wife Dr. Bridget Cunningham, and Matthew Cunningham and wife Gillian both of Washington, D.C., and 3 great-grandchildren.
Annette was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Ed Yavornik on October 14, 1998, 1 daughter Kathaleen, 1 brother Ted Wentz and 1 Sister Thelma Kohnen.
The family suggests memorials in Mrs. Yavornik's name be made to St. Anthony's Catholic Church Endowment Fund, or St. Anthony's Catholic School, 114 Sunset Drive, Hereford, Texas 79045.
