Martha Elizabeth "Beth" Patton Posey, 93, of Canyon died Monday, June 2, 2014, in Amarillo.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in First Baptist Church of Canyon with the Rev. Gene Jones, associate pastor, officiating. Graveside services will follow at 4 p.m. in West Park Cemetery in Hereford. Arrangements are by Brooks Funeral Directors of Canyon.

Martha Elizabeth "Beth" Patton Posey was born Aug. 1, 1920, in Windom to Phillip and Nellie Runkle Patton. She married E.B. Posey Jr. on Sept. 2, 1946, in Chillicothe.

Beth received a Bachelor of Arts degree from North Texas State Teachers College on June 2, 1941, and a Master of Arts degree in 1948 from West Texas Teachers College.
