*Obituary Percy Welliver
Percy Welliver, aged 66, prominent farmer and business man, died May 14, after a lingering illness, and was buried in the Hereford cemetery last Saturday, May 15 at 10:30 a.m., funeral services being held from the Methodist church, conducted by the Rev. J.O. Haymes. Active pall bearers were J.W. Houston, D.W. Hawkins, H.E. Rice, I.H. Spratt, H.H. Hawkins and G.A.F. Parker. Honorary pall bearers were W.B. Anthony, A.A. Ott, O.O. Curtis, A.J. Curtis, Emi Bowsher, D.H. Bryant, G.P. Turrentine, J.F. Ward, J.E. Beyer, Jno N. Jacobsen, O.L. Rutherford, S.L. Easley, G.W. Sims, L.P. Landrum, W.B. Parmer, J.H. Brooks, S.O. Wilson, John Brand, Fred Millard, E. Miles, G.O. Chandler, J.E. Mullenkamp, J.B. McMinn, J.W. Sherbert, C.C. Bowman.

Mr. Welliver was born in Murdock, Illnois, December 4, 1860. He was married three times, the first and second wives dying in Illinois. He had three daughters by his first wife, all of whom died while quite young. He leaves two sisters, Mrs. Ida Helm of Santa Clara, California, and Mrs. Emma Jones of Clinton, Indiana. His only brother, Lyman T. Welliver, died in 1903. He also leaves five nieces and seven nephews. His niece, Mrs. Speelman, who cared for him during his last illness, is the daughter of his brother.

Mr. Welliver came to Hereford in 1914. His last wife died and was buried here on May 1, 1925.

His death was not unlooked for. He himself expected it. He had arranged his business affairs, and talked of the change which was approaching without emotion and without fear. For some months he had suffered acutely, but this he bore bravely and was cheerful to the last; always greeting his friends with a cheerful word, and always showing his appreciation for their services.

The people of Hereford will miss him as a progressive, enterprising and successful business man. His close friends will miss him as an intelligent cheerful companion.

His Sunday school class will miss him. He was a regular attendant of the Men's Bible class and took an active part in discussing the lessons.

*Obituary Sarah E. Carmack Welliver
Mrs. Percy Welliver, age 66, passed away last Friday night at 10:30. The funeral services were held at the Methodist church Monday afternoon and interment at the city cemetery, Rev. Haymes officiating.

Mrs. Welliver was operated on March 31, and was apparently making satisfactory progress toward recovery up to a few days before she died.

She was a life long member and worker of the Methodist church and will be missed by her large circle of friends.

Mr. and Mrs. Welliver came to Hereford in the year 1914 from Clane, Illinois, and have made their home here since that time. Besides Mr. Welliver, a sister, Mrs. Pollock of Venice, California, and a brother, C.R. Carmack of Glen Dale, California, were here when she passed away. As one prominent writer once said, "Every one born with a bird in his heart." This was a characteristic of the deceased, she was better known to her friends with a smile and song in her heart.

Mr. Welliver will remain in Hereford, and a niece, Mrs. Myrtle Speelman, will keep house for him.

Car of Thanks
We wish to thank the kind friends who comforted us with their kind deeds and words during the illness of our loved one, for the beautiful floral offerings: the Missionary Society with whom she was a faithful member, the Choir, and all who helped in any way.
