*Obituary James Albert Roe
Funeral services for J.A. Roe, 82, a retired farmer, were held Saturday afternoon in the Rose Chapel of Gililland Funeral Home.

Mr. Roe died at 10 p.m. Thursday in Deaf Smith County Hospital. He had been ill for several months.

The Rev. Eugene Naugle officiated at the services. Burial was in West Park Cemetery.

Mr. Roe came to this county from Plainview in 1929. He was born Sept. 9, 1874, in Parker County. He was married to Miss Hannah Newby Sept. 4, 1892 in Wise County.

He was a member of the Westway Methodist Church.

Surviving are his wife; five sons, Tom of Ardmore, Okla., Loyd of Panhandle, F.A. and J.W. of Richmond, Calif., and M.S. of Hereford; three daughters, Lela Williams of Pacific Palisades, Calif., Oro Odom of Quanah, Vina Edmonson of Hereford; four brothers, Will of Fort Worth, Tom and John of Azel [sic], Dave of Brownfield; four sisters, Susie Newby of Alvarado, Lucy Howard of Azel [sic], Minnie Rowder and Nellie Hewitt, both of Brownfield; 20 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

HEREFORD - Mrs. Hanna E. Roe, 87, of 210 Ave. C, died Tuesday morning in Deaf Smith County Hospital.

A resident of Hereford since 1929, Mrs. Roe was born in Springtown. She was a member of the First Methodist Church.

Surviving are sons, Lloyd E. of Groom, Morris of Hereford, Tom of Ardmore, Okla., and Faust of Richmond, Calif.; 20 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.

Services are pending at Gililland Funeral Home.
