Final rites for Mack Short, 71, former Hereford resident will be held at 2 p.m. Monday in Rose Chapel of Gililland Funeral Home. The Rev. Alby Cockrell, First Methodist Church pastor, will officiate.
Mr. Short died Thursday in Roswell, N.M. , Osteopathic Hospital. He was born Jan. 23, 1886, at Hopkinsville, Ky., and came to Deaf Smith County in about 1908. He later moved to Friona and then to Roswell seven years ago. He was a retired farmer.
Survivors include his wife; five sons, George and Bob of Roswell, Glenn and Charles of Friona and J.D. of Seattle, Wash.; three daughters, Mrs. Mary Kalewetter [sic] of Mendhall [sic], Miss., Mrs. Wanda Jean Billingsley of Newport, Wash., and Mrs. Lois McDonald of Hereford; 14 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Burial will be in West Park Cemetery.
