BIG SPRING — Services for Helen Opal King, 80, of Coahoma will be at 4:30 p.m. Friday at Nalley-Pickle and Welch Rosewood Chapel with the Rev. Elwin Collom officiating. Burial will be in Coahoma Cemetery under the direction of Nalley-Pickle and Welch Funeral Home of Big Spring.
She died Wednesday, March 14, 2001. She was born Sept. 3, 1920, in Perryton and married W.C. "Clarence" King on Oct. 23, 1937, in Big Spring. He died Feb. 20, 1989. She moved to Coahoma in 1963 from Colorado City. She and her late husband owned and operated W.C. King Trucking Co. for many years.
A son, Billy Clarence, died March 28, 1988. Survivors include four sons, Edward, Earl, Donnie and Gerald, all of Coahoma; a daughter, Jackie Free of Coahoma; a sister, Odessa Smith of Big Spring; 15 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials to American Cancer Society, c/o Lucy Bonner, P.O. Box 2121, Big Spring 79721-2121.
