Funeral services for Juanita Hawkins, age 88 of Seminole, Texas will be held Saturday, October 8, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at New Creation Church. Burial will follow at Gaines County Memorial Cemetery. All services are under the direction of Boyer Funeral Home.
Mrs. Hawkins was born October 29, 1933 to Estelle (Slade) and Carter Davis in Stephenville, Texas. She married James Hawkins in Seminole, Texas on February 18, 1991. She worked as a substitute teacher and enjoyed teaching children. In her younger years, she enjoyed playing basketball. Juanita also enjoyed cooking, playing solitaire, working crossword puzzles and growing roses in her spare time. She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother.
Juanita Hawkins passed away at Seminole Memorial Hospital in Seminole on Sunday, October 2, 2022. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by one brother and one sister. She is survived by her husband, James "Boo" Hawkins of Seminole; seven sons, Glenn Stephens of Austin, Texas, James Hawkins of Mount Vernon, Texas, Kenneth Hawkins of Seminole, Steven Hawkins of Amarillo, Texas, Jerry Hawkins and wife Lucia of Eunice, New Mexico, Johnny Hawkins of Denison, Texas, and Robert Hawkins of Paris, Texas; four daughters, Frieda Blackmon and husband Lynn of Hobbs, New Mexico, Anna Hawkins of Paris, Texas, Stacey Tharpe and wife Alesha of Cisco, Texas, and Brenda Hawkins of Paris, Texas; one sister, Nona Williamson and husband Jackie of Stephenville, Texas; 40 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
