Gary was born Tuesday, July 11, 1944 in Holliday, Texas. He was the son of the late M.C. Rogers and the late Juanita Wingrove Rogers. He married Gloria Gaylene Chenault on July 10, 1964 in Vernon, TX., she preceded him in death on August 3, 1999. He had been a long time resident of Vernon moving to Lake Arrowhead in 2006.
He owned and operated Gary's Fishing Guide Service and Fishing Tours at Lake Arrowhead and Roger's Cheese Bait. He retired from Rhodia in 2006 working as a welder. He played the Acoustic Guitar for several blue grass bands and playing at town gatherings and nursing homes. He was a member of Western Trail Cowboy Church where he played the guitar and sang.
He is survived by His Son Billy Joe Rogers of Vernon, TX.
His Daughter Darla Gay Rogers Mitchell of Vernon, TX.
His Brother Sonny Rogers of Logan, NM. Seven Sisters
Yvonne McWhorter of Vernon, TX., Paula Cary of Vernon, TX., Arnelle Murphree of Wichita Falls, TX. Penny McCulley of Denison, TX. Laverne Whisenhunt of Athens, TX.
