HEREFORD - Lawanna Hamilton 64, of Gilbert, Ariz., died Wednesday, Dec. 21, 2005.
Mrs. Hamilton was born March 26, 1941, in Hereford to Frank and Lena Lookingbill. She attended school in Hereford through 10th grade and graduated from Fox High school in Oklahoma. She then went to airline school and worked for Pan American Airlines in New York and Dallas. On Aug. 10, 1963, she married her husband Dr. Philip Hamilton. She moved to Lubbock, where she was a member of the Junior League, Dental Auxiliary and First Methodist Church. She moved to Ruidoso, N.M., in 1981, where she owned and managed a lodging business. Upon retirement she moved to Gilbert in 2004 to be near her daughter and grandchildren.
Lawanna loved her children and grandchildren and was a joy to be with. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and loved all of her friends dearly.
Survivors include her husband of more than 43 years; a son, Paul of Laramie, Wyo.; a daughter, Jennifer of Gilbert; and two grandchildren, Cami and Colten.
