Mrs. Thomas died March 13, 2008, at North Texas Medical Center in Gainesville.
She was born June 20, 1914, in Maud, Okla., to Joseph and Floda Guinn Smith. On July 25, 1929, she married Dave M. Thomas in Seminole, Okla. Maudie Thomas was a homemaker and was a 50-plus years member of the First United Methodist Church. She was also a member of the Belle Moon Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star.
Survivors include her daughter, Sharon Richey and her husband, Hubert of Gainesville; grandchildren, Lance Richey and his wife, Linda of Matthews, N.C., Shauna Clark and her husband, Daryl of Gainesville, Wayna Rosson and her husband, Travis of Sivells Bend, Shandee Davis and her husband, Jake of Sanger, Dave M. Thomas III and his wife, Mitzi of Midland, Kyle Thomas and his wife, Sharon of Oklahoma City, Staci Baysinger and her husband, Randy of Farmington, N.M.; 16 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and daughter-in-law, Betty Thomas of Sun Lakes, Ariz.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dave M. Thomas on Feb. 24, 2003; and by her son, Dave M. Thomas Jr. on July 7, 1999.
Pallbearers are David M. Thomas III, Kyle Thomas, Daryl Clark, Travis Rosson, Jake Davis, and Cleve Thomas.
