Funeral services for Theresa Reece Johnson, 92, Tyler, are scheduled for 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2014, at El Bethel Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Jarrett Polk officiating.
Burial will be in Johnson Cemetery under direction of Brooks-Sterling & Garrett Funeral Directors, Tyler.
Mrs. Johnson died Dec. 10, 2014, in Tyler.
She was born July 16, 1922, in Tyler and was a lifelong resident of Smith County. She attended Douglas Elementary, Emmett J. Scott High School, Texas College and Prairie View A&M University. She was a member of El Bethel Baptist Church, and an educator/nurse. She was a leader of Douglas Community Center and a member of Taliferro School of Nursing.
She was preceded in death by her parents, J.T. Johnson and Bessie Hughes Johnson; and brothers, Kenneth Walton and J.C. Johnson.
Survivors include son, Kelvin Keith Johnson (Kristy); and grandchildren, Kelvin Kejuane Johnson, Kyle Keith Johnson and Katrina Alyse Tompkins.
Public viewing will be from noon to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. .
