Funeral services for Howard Lee Doores, 72, who died last Monday in Electra Memorial Hospital following a lengthy illness, were held Wednesday in First United Methodist Church with Rev. Merwin Turner, pastor, officiating. Interment was in Electra Memorial Park under direction of James B. Totten and Son Funeral Home.
Mr. Doores was born April 16, 1907 in Bronaugh, Mo. He had resided in Electra for the past 54 years. A retired insurance and finance employee, he was a member of the First United Methodist Church. He married Thelma Coffey, Aug. 22, 1929 in Electra.
Survivors include: his wife, Thelma of Electra; three sons, Dick Doores of Irving, James Doores of Amarillo and Robert Doores of New Braunfels; two sisters, Mahlon Munson of Portland, Ore. and Mrs. L.M. Pemberpon of Ventura, California. Eight grandchildren also survive.
Pallbearers were Paul Jones, Ray B. Dickey Sr. Earl Deuschle, Tommy B. Rowe, W.A. Jenkins and Paul Rapp.
Honorary pallbearers were Walter Skinner, N.S. Nelson, Dr. C.P. Downtain, and Luther Golden._
