Georgia Mae McCormick Crawford, 92, of Clyde, died Friday, July 26, 2013, at an Abilene care center. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday, July 29, 2013, at the First Baptist Church in Clyde with Dr. Toby Henson officiating. Burial will follow in the Kendrick Cemetery in Denton Valley under the direction of Bailey-Howard Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Crawford was born October 3, 1920, in Denton Valley to Luther and Ethel Allen McCormick. She grew up and attended school in Denton Valley. She was the widow of Carlton Crawford whom she married March 15, 1936, in Potosi. They came to Clyde from Midland in September, 1990. She had worked for ten years for the Midland ISD as a food handler and for ten years at Midland College. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Clyde.
Mrs. Crawford is survived by two sons, Carl Crawford and wife Rolanda and Dennis Crawford and wife Karis, all of Abilene; two daughters, Barbara Lesley and husband Danny of Abilene and Judy Webb and husband Lee of Huntsville, Arkansas; one sister, Louise Jones and husband J.C. of Clyde; 14 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Carlton; four sisters, Dora Parker, Lois Loper, Isola Bohannon, and Irene McCormick; and one brother, Alvin McCormick.
