Born in Scotland June 1838 Died San Marcos, Hays County, Texas April 12, 1912. Married Mary Catherine "Mollie" Forsyth/Edwards from Tennessee and raised six boys, William Wallace Forsyth, James Crow Forsyth, Edward "ED" Jackson Forsyth, Louis Hutchins Forsyth, Thomas Elliott Forsyth (who was shot and killed at the age of 9 years), and John Richards Forsyth. James was a stone mason by trade and some of his work still stands today in Hays and surrounding counties.
