Kirkland – Katie Klapper Hardin passed away September 4, 1940 at her home in Kirkland. Katie was born January 22, 1885 to Phillip and Mary Smith Klapper in Cullen County, Texas.. Katie married Joseph A. Hardin and their children were Claude, Effie Adkinson, Norma Jean Swafford, Willie, who died in infancy, Cullen Doyle, Louie Elbert, and Tincy Marie Britian. Burial was in the Kirkland Cemetery.
